Since its early installations in Wales, Ireland, Canada, South Africa and Germany, the 2-year-old EasySert inserter from Ferag, Hinwil, Switzerland, has found its way into the workflows of newspaper, magazine and commercial printers in a range of sizes, some as small as two or four hopper stations.
The longest line, with 32 insert infeeds, has been running for a year at Presse-Druck- und Verlags-GmbH, Augsburg, Germany, where it used for direct-mail regional advertising packages and production of advertising freesheets. Other long EasySert lines are now running at Heilbronner Stimme and at Weiss-Druck in Monschau. At its Elsterheide facility, DVH Weiss-Druck has also operates a line with eight infeeds. And another eight-station configuration was commissioned by Saxony-based newspaper house Torgau Druck last year to produce freesheets.
Ferag also reports installations used for magazines – in Austria, Finland, and at a Riccobono Group plant near Paris, where it is which is integrated with Ferag StreamStitch and a trimming drum for inline production.
Distinguished by modular construction and a range of configuration options, EasySert offers: variable format; three easy-to-change opening devices (overlap, vacuum, air) for processing almost all trimmed or untrimmed products; repair function in the gathering process for stable production at speeds of 25,000 cph and a high rate of completeness for collections; integration of Ferag’s XtraWin concept, with stitching, edge trimming and further added-value options; expansion options with additional JetFeeder hoppers; and straightforward integration, with infeeding via the JetFeeder universal hopper, logs or MultiDisc.
