Two West Coast museums are holding comics-related shows.
“Pigskin Peanuts” — a fall/winter exhibit at The Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, Calif. — is spotlighting 50 football-related cartoons starring Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, and others.
Another show features more than 40 ink paintings by Japanese artist Yoshiteru Otani incorporating “Peanuts” characters. It opened Nov. 12 and will run through April 11 at the museum.
At the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco, an exhibit of “Contemporary Literary Comics” opened Saturday and will run through May 22.
The museum is in its 20th-anniversary year. Since 1984, it has mounted 112 exhibits.
