N.J. Newspaper Editor Indicted on More Child Sex-Assault Charges

A Morris County (N.J.) grand jury Thursday returned a superceding indictment adding more allegations of sexual assaults of four girls against the former managing editor of two Straus News group weeklies, the Star-Ledger reported.

Mario Palomo, who has been in jail on $1 million bail since his arrest in August 2006, was charged in a 31-count indictment that replaces a previous 16-count indictment. Palomo, 48, is accused of assaulting four girls, one for a seven-year period that began when she was eight. Palomo is the former managing editor of the Sparta Journal and the Township Journal
