The Newspaper Association of America of Vienna, Va., announced Tuesday that Judith A. Burrell, senior vice president of communications and publisher of Presstime, will assume management of the NAA’s Diversity Department.
Burrell will assume the duties of Toni F. Laws, who is retiring as senior vice president for diversity and the NAA Foundation. Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Margaret Vassilikos will now oversee the NAA Foundation.
In a December interview with E&P, NAA CEO and President CEO John F. Sturm said the organization remains committed to diversity. “I guarantee that we are not abandoning [our diversity programs in any way,” he said. “It will continue to be a priority.”
