CNBC Becomes Feature Partner

NBC has made a minority investment in iSyndicate, an online syndication company in
San Francisco. As part of the deal, CNBC.com will become a featured content partner
in the business category of iSyndicate’s content marketplace. Terms of the deal
were not disclosed.

iSyndicate will offer story headlines and links to CNBC.com’s financial and market
updates. CNBC’s brand will be promoted by iSyndicate.

NBC says it is making a cash investment and offering advertising time across the NBC
network, including CNBC and MSNBC, in exchange for a minority equity stake in
iSyndicate. NBC Interactive President Marty Yudkovitz says iSyndicate’s business
model ‘has quickly gained critical mass.’

iSyndicate pulls content from over 800 sources, including The Associated Press,
Reuters, Time, and Salon.com. Content is delivered to a network of over 170,000
sites, including Netscape, Citibank, and Nortel Networks.

iSyndicate is backed by Scripps Ventures, Labrador Ventures, Hambrecht & Quiest,
Infospace.com, and Vignette Corp. The company’s leading competitor is New
York-based Screaming Media, which recently filed for an IPO.
