Net-linx nets Brazil’s biggest daily
Net-linx Americas last month reached agreement to supply an nxAdvertising Commercial system with 130 Java and 250 Web clients to Brazil’s 490,000-circulation O Estado de Sao Paulo and 120,000-circulation Jornal da Tarde. The papers are published by one of Brazil’s largest media groups, with holdings in newspapers, radio and yellow-page directories.
The AdCommerce suite, with the Self-Serve, Search & Presentation and Community modules, also is included, along with nxEdge for ad tracking and production management. Beyond updating its systems, nxEdge will cut display-ad production costs, and nxAdvertising and Adcommerce will add new revenue possibilities, according to O Estado IT Manager Alvaro Mello.
The paper also said it soon will offer technology for taking ads on its call center. With the city’s largest classified volume, O Estado takes up to 9,500 ads on Fridays alone, booking ads from many remote locations.
It is net-linx’s second nxAdvertising sale. The Bakersfield Californian in concluding beta testing of the system and is slated to go live later this month. According to net-linx Chief Marketing Officer Albert DeBruijn, net-linx was able to develop the Java- and J2EE-based ad system within two years, resulting in technology advantages over aging client/server architectures.
