Agfa Graphics, Mortsel, Belgium, has developed a browser-based system for production of print and Web publications, including newspapers. Agfa will demo the new platform, Apogee Media, in late spring at the Drupa trade show in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Apogee Media offers content management and a workflow platform for page layout based on open standards, and is designed to offer “more efficient data management, improved process control, real-time collaboration, and higher throughput,” according to Agfa.
Content is centrally managed and accessed via standard Web browsers to combine an XML-based content-management system with Agfa’s Apogee production solutions. The new platform offers customers “a streamlined solution to create printed or Web pages in a collaborative, accessible environment [and] increased control even when content is used across several publications,” said Agfa Apogee Media Product Manager Hans Van Glabeke.
