Press release from issuing company.
Tampa, Fla. – November 8, 2010 – SAXOTECH, a leader in content management, circulation systems and advertising solutions, announced today the New Hampshire Union Leader has selected the SAXOTECH Mediaware Center and SAXOTECH Online for its print and online media products. SAXOTECH will provide the Union Leader with new levels of publishing flexibility and will enable the media company to maximize the use of all available resources including cloud computing.
The SAXOTECH Mediaware Center with its high-performance, feature-rich platform and SAXOTECH Online as a front-end digital delivery system will enable the Union Leader to produce content for more channels and more market segments than ever before. The integrated multi-channel workflow and content management solution will bring print and digital publishing together giving the Union Leader’s newsroom the ability to share copy-editing, page design resources and digital content across the group.
“After a long and thorough selection process, we are excited to be working with SAXOTECH, said Brendan McQuaid, vice president of new media, New Hampshire Union Leader. “SAXOTECH impressed us with their deep knowledge of the industry along and unmatched customer service. They are providing us with a truly integrated content management system which will bring our newsroom and websites into the twenty first century. SAXOTECH has an office right in Bedford, NH and we are very happy to be working with a company with a local presence.”
The Union Leader will now have the production tools needed to optimize resources to guarantee that none of its content producers will be working on the same story at the same time. Utilizing the advanced planning and workflow features of the SAXOTECH Mediaware Center, the Union Leader can send a single reporter to an event. The SAXOTECH platform enables a reporter, using a laptop to have a story and photos in the system before the event is over. Other journalists will be able to follow the development of the story, retrieve it from the database and add to it from another angle. Increased print and Web collaboration will greatly improve operational efficiencies and allow for up-to-the-minute Web publishing, ideal for breaking news stories and delivering critical information.
SAXOTECH’s complete solution will enable the Union Leader to serve high volumes of content to multiple digital channels, while still allowing news producers to maintain total control of their content.
“Relying on SAXOTECH to manage and deliver quality content to the Union Leader community is a responsibility we take great pride in,” said Anders Christiansen, president and CEO, SAXOTECH. “By streamlining their workflow and putting the best-of-breed publishing solution at their finger tips, we help the Union Leader maximize resources and quickly adapt to changing conditions in our industry.
