Baldwin Technology Co. of Shelton, Conn., will show a number of new newspaper press technologies next month at Drupa, in Duesseldorf, Germany.
Baldwin will release the newspaper and semi-commercial version of its ImpactFusion blanket-cleaning system. Developed for the commercial sector, it gives users the choice between using a dry cloth with a cleaning agent or prepac, a cloth that comes impregnated with an “environmentally friendly, virtually VOC-free” cleaning agent, according to the company. Baldwin also has adapted its ProTech brush blanket-cleaning system for newspapers and semi-commercial printers.
Baldwin also will also show an ink roller cleaning system that allows simultaneous cleaning of all ink units on a press, combined with minimum consumption of cleaning fluids, as well as upgraded fluid and temperature control systems for all market segments and performance and capacity requirements.
The company’s new WebCatcher S14 and WebCatcher S18 are designed to prevent press damage from a web break at speeds of up to 14 and 18 meters per second, respectively. Both aim at the commercial web, newspaper, and semi-commercial areas.
On the consumables side, Baldwin will introduce Prepac E, Plus, and Extreme cleaning products for hybrid, UV, and textured cylinder applications, as well as economically-priced Prepac cleaning supplies for traditional newspaper, commercial web, and sheetfed printing.
