By: E&P Staff

Pete Zanmiller has been named the new publisher of Gannett’s The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, W.Va, the paper reported Wednesday.

Zanmiller comes to the paper from Brevard County, Fla. where he managed production for Florida Today. Prior to that, he worked as a production coordinator for one of USA Today’s print centers in Pennsylvania. He has been with Gannett since graduating from college in 1986.

As publisher, Zanmiller said he wants to ensure that the newspaper takes an active role in the community by continuing to organize public events and forums.

He is replacing E. Pat Thompson Frantz, who has been named chairwoman of the Herald-Dispatch. She will advise Zanmiller until her retirement in January.
