MediaSpan, Research Triangle Park, N.C., announced today that it has opened a new facility for the Melbourne, Fla.,-based team of its Media Software business unit.
The company said the “move will help MediaSpan Media Software manage the rapid growth that the unit has undergone in the last year,” as well as expected growth in 2007. Of the unit’s 162 employees, 57 are based in Melbourne.
The new facility is located at 300 North Drive, Suite 100, in Melbourne. The previous Melbourne facility dates from the business’ days as a division of Harris Corp.
MediaSpan Media Software installations late last year included Huckle Publishing, Owatonna, Minn., where multiple small weeklies and dailies were brought together with a central IQue editorial system. All the sites upgraded from older NewsEditPro folder-based systems. Huckle also uses ArchiveIQue to store information for research and reuse and LiveIQue for Web publishing.
Other sites going live with MediaSpan solutions were: Sangre de Cristo Chronicle, Angel Fire, N.M., Decatur (Ind.) Daily Democrat, Elko (Nev.) Daily Free Press, Hannibal (Mo.) Courier-Post, The Hinsdalean, Hinsdale, Ill., Leavenworth (Wash.) Echo, Monroe Walton Tribune, Monroe, Ga., Good Times, Santa Cruz, Calif., Sierra Vista (Ariz.) Herald, and West Memphis (Ark.) Evening Times (advertising systems); Patuxent Publishing, Columbia, Md., Elko (Nev.) Daily Free Press, and Sandusky (Ohio) Register (editorial systems); Carrollton (Ga.)
