Editorial cartoonist/animator Kevin “Kal” Kallaugher announced the launch of a Web site called USDemocrazy.net.
The site — created by students and staff at the University of Maryland, Baltimore — includes cartoons, animation, and “playful language” to help discuss the complexities of democracy.
“My team at USDemocrazy set out to capture the color and character of each of our 50 states,” Kal said in a statement. “To help in this endeavor, we contacted the very best experts in each state — the political cartoonists — to be our first contributors. With their help we have built a growing data base of fun and important information.”
The new site can be seen here.
Kal does cartoons for The Economist and the New York Times Syndicate-marketed CartoonArts International.
