The New York Times Co. has signed a tenant for its new building near Times Square — fully leasing 100% of the space the company owns. The corporate law firm Goodwin Procter is occupying 216,000 square feet on seven floors of 620 Eighth Avenue.
The firm signed a 15-year lease and will take floors 23 through 27 and floors 29 and 30. There are 52 floors in the building.
The new building, which is opening this fall, is owned jointly by the New York Times and Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC). The Times owns floors 2 through 27 and FCRC owns floors 29 through 50, floor 52 and 21,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Both companies own floors 28 and 51.
