The New York Times continues to wrestle with last week’s strange Gay Talese episode. Tomorrow, New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet will meet with staffers at the newspaper’s Styles department, where there’s consternation over how Baquet ripped a story by freelancer Sridhar Pappu regarding Talese’s reaction to a Twitter backlash against his remarks at an April 1 event at Boston University. “Too often, we are clumsy in handling issues of race and gender and this story was another unfortunate example,” wrote Baquet in a note posted to the site of the New York Times Co.
