‘Newsday’ Parent Names Donohue Top Tech Exec

Cablevision Systems Corp., Bethpage, N.Y., has named Tom Donohue senior vice president, technology, for its Local Media group, where he reports to President Tad Smith.

Donohue is responsible for technology strategy and operations for the Local Media group, which includes Melville-based Newsday, free daily amNewYork, News 12 Networks’ local news channels, and MSG Varsity’s television and online services covering high school activities.

For the past three years Donohue has been senior vice president and chief technology officer for Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S, where he directed the IT team and budget and managed all business applications and technology initiatives. He earlier was vice president of business applications for Reed Business Information. Before joining Reed, he spent 23 years at software supplier Syllogy Corp.
