PAGE Co-op Hopes To Save Time, Money

PAGE Co-op, the Wayne, Pa.-based buying association for newspaper
publishers, said it is creating an e-commerce procurement system
for its members. The co-op will use software from PurchasePro, a
Las Vegas-based company that builds online buying and selling
systems for businesses.

PAGE executives hope the Internet initiative will help the co-op
save time and costs associated with the purchase of products and
services. PurchasePro is an Internet browser-based system,
allowing co-op members to log on from any Internet Service
Provider.

PAGE’s small- to medium-sized newspaper members are made up of
150 newspaper companies across the United States. Members
individually place orders and receive shipments for supplies, but
receive discounts based on pooled purchasing.
