The publisher of short-lived newspaper that promised to focus on “good news” was ordered to serve a 10-year prison sentence Wednesday after a prosecutor described him in court as “the biggest con man I have ever met.”

David Michael Rose, 28, who was placed on probation in 2008 after being convicted on eight counts of passing bad checks, was apprehended near San Diego in September.
