Though there were fewer newspaper transactions made during the first three quarters of 2005, the value more than doubled compared to the same period last year. According to The Jordan, Edmiston Group, 66 deals occurred for a total of $7.4 billion versus 71 deals for $2.8 billion in 2004. Here’s a look at the dailies and some weeklies that have changed hands since our last report in the August 2005 issue of E&P. A complete list will be posted online in early January at www.editorandpublisher.com in the Business section.
