Newsprint Consumption Up in January

Newsprint consumption by U.S. dailies edged up 1% to 696,000 metric tons in January, according to preliminary figures from the Newspaper Association of America, Vienna, Va.

January stocks rose 3.8% to 981,000 metric tons, a 41 days’ supply, the preliminary figures show.
