Norbert (Bert) Ortiz has been appointed director of circulation at the Orlando Sentinel, effective Nov. 13. He will oversee the company?s circulation activities, including marketing, customer service, and distribution.
Most recently Ortiz was subscriber marketing and sales director at the Chicago Tribune.
?Bert is a strong leader who possesses superior knowledge of all aspects of circulation which continues to be an area where much of the Sentinel?s time, attention, and strategies will be focused moving forward,? Avido Khahaifa, senior vice president and general manager, said in a statement.
Ortiz joined the Chicago Tribune, a sister newspaper to the Sentinel, in 1987 as a division sales manager. He briefly left the Chicago Tribune in 1999 to become business development manager for Newspaper Services of America.
