The National Press Photographers Association has chosen New York-based Digital Railroad Inc., provider of Web-based application services for the professional photography industry, as its exclusive partner for online delivery and distribution technology services.
The organizations said in a statement that the arrangement will provide programs and services that allow NPPA’s nearly 10,000 members “to leverage critical online workflow tools to efficiently manage and sell their images to photo buyers around the globe.”
Through a series of co-produced educational seminars and workshops at NPPA events such as the Flying Short Course and Women in Photojournalism Conference, Digital Railroad will join NPPA in keeping members informed about technical, copyright and business issues.
Headquartered in Durham, N.C., NPPA will use Digital Railroad technology to manage the “Search NPPA” photo archive, affording photo buyers access to thousands of images from some of the world’s leading photojournalists. The deal also will provide NPPA members with Digital Railroad services at discounted rates.
Digital Railroad provides online technology and services for buyers and sellers of professional photography. Membership now spans over 50 countries and includes more than 21,000 registered buyers.
