The National Society of Newspaper Columnists (NSNC) is holding its 10th annual scholarship contest for general-interest college columnists.
March 1 is the deadline to enter the competition. The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and a trip to the NSNC’s June 21-24 conference in Philadelphia.
The 2006 winner was Fernanda Diaz of Columbia University in New York. There were 120 entries last year, according to Russell Frank, a columnist and Penn State communications professor who chairs the NSNC’s education committee.
