The National Society of Newspaper Columnists Education Foundation (NSNCEF) unanimously passed its first official proclamation ever — honoring 2007 conference chair Stu Bykofsky of the Philadelphia Daily News.
Bykofsky raised so much money for this past June’s conference in Philadelphia that he donated $7,250 to the NSNCEF, reported foundation secretary Dave Lieber of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Among the other actions at the NSNCEF’s recent board meeting was a decision to add a third prize of $250 to its annual college-columnist-scholarship contest. The second prize is $500 and the first prize is $1,000 and a free trip to the NSNC’s annual conference, which will be held in New Orleans next year.
