Consortium To Seek Best Suppliers, Lower Costs
Two newspaper giants, Knight Ridder and The New York Times Co., announced today the
creation of a purchasing consortium that will pool their buying power for supplies
such as computers, production materials, various consumables, and professional
KR/NYT Enterprises LLC will help both companies maximize capital and achieve
significant long-term savings, says John O’Brien, senior vice president and chief
financial officer for the Times Co.
Knight Ridder publishes 31 daily newspapers. The Times Co. publishes 24 newspapers.
