The New York Times named Guy D. “Doc” Holliday vice president of advertising sales. He was formerly director of engineering and maintenance operations at the paper. Under the new title, which becomes effective March 29, Holliday will be responsible for classified advertising sales including the real estate and recruitment categories.
Holliday was on active military duty as a major in the United States Army form March 2003 to March 2004. Prior to his position as director of engineering and maintenance operations, which he held since 2000, he was an assistant plant manager at the Times’s print facility in Edison, N.J. He also worked for Lukens Steel and the Kimberly-Clark Corp. From 1986 to 1992 he served as captain in the United States Army.
Holliday is a graduate of the United States Military Academy. He received an M.S. from the National Graduate School in Falmouth, Mass.
