Company Drops Top Editor Position For Digital Unit

The New York Times recently announced that Richard J.
Meislin, editor in chief of New York Times Digital, is moving
back to the print edition. Meislin, 47, succeeds Kevin McKenna
as the newspaper’s technology editor, overseeing daily
technology coverage for all sections of the paper.

McKenna, 45, is the new editor of the Times’ weekly
Circuits section, which runs on Thursdays. James Gorman,
currently Circuits editor, is moving to the paper’s Weekend
section on Feb. 1. Gorman, 51, will also work on a radio program
based on Circuits.

A spokeswoman for the Times’ Internet division said there
would no longer be an editor in chief for the unit. Bernard
Gwertzman remains the editor of NYTimes.com.
