The Web site of the New York Times has named Murray Gaylord its new vice president of marketing, starting January 8th. Gaylord had previously been VP of brand marketing for Yahoo.
Gaylord will work with the site’s senior managment staff and oversee marketing, customer service, research and Web analytics.
“Murray Gaylord’s extensive experience in advertising, branding and market research will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow the scope and relevancy of NYTimes.com,” said Vivian Schiller, senior vice president and general manager of the site, in a statement. “We have ambitious plans underway for 2007 and will rely on his critical insights to lead our marketing efforts.?
