Jim Freeman, Trading Director and head of the Telegraph Media Group’s Create cross-media sales team, has joined the program of the WAN-IFRA Advertising Summit, in Hamburg, Germany, on Oct. 7, just following the IFRA Expo.
Freeman’s team offers solutions incorporating print, online, mobile, video, e-commerce, social networking, events, contract publishing, viral campaigns, reader offers, promotions, and data capture.
The Advertising Summit, at Axel Springer headquarters, is one of a several events (World Editors Forum, International e-Reading and Tablet Conference, Focus Sessions) to be held around the 40th Ifra Expo, the largest annual news publishing trade exhibition. The Oct. 4-6 expo will give summit participants a chance to study trends in advertising-and circulation-management systems.
The expo and events are organized by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).
Moderated by Constantine Kamaras, vice chairman of 24Media in Greece and co-founder of the Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe, the summit’s other speakers are: Christian Hernandez, Facebook’s head of international business development; Blinder Group President Mike Blinder speaking about online local search sales strategies; Gregor Waller, strategy & innovation vice president at Axel Springer’s Welt Group in Germany, who will address ad tablet and e-reader ad formats; Mark Reeves, editor at The Business Desk in the United Kingdom, discussing how editors can become more business oriented without losing their independence; Staffan Hultén, founder of Sweden-based Research and Analysis of Media; Theo Blanco, Upsala (Sweden) Nya Tidning sales and marketing vice president, who will consider credibility’s role in boosting ad revenues; Rosarita Cuccoli, Secretary General of the International Association of Sports Newspapers, will examine how to exploit sports content to increase advertising sales; Stephan Puls, production chief at Germany’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, will present mobile tools for ad booking; WAN-IFRA Business Director Eamonn Byrne will offer insights on training for cross-platform sales; Florian Bauer, board member of Germany-based market research and consulting firm Vocatus, will consider pricing strategies.
