Barack Obama’s odds of getting to the White House are improving, according to Universal Press Syndicate columnist Benjamin Eckstein.

Last month, Eckstein had Obama at even odds to win the presidency, with John McCain at 3/2. This month, the Democrat is at 1/2, with the Republican at 6/4.

Eckstein offers presidential odds in addition to his mostly sports-oriented “America’s Line” daily column and entertainment-oriented “Hollywood & Line” weekly column.

The oddsmaker is profiled in E&P’s June 2008 magazine.
