Online-only North Carolina newspaper The Raleigh Telegram embedded reporters with U.S. soldiers from Fort Bragg in Haiti, resulting in a special edition project.
Editor Randall Gregg said staffers were embedded for more than a week with soldiers who were delivering food, water and supplies to Haitians.
The edition features 20 stories and more than 200 photos and videos covering the aftermath of the earthquake that struck Haiti in January.
Additionally, the project focuses on soldiers in the field camp dealing with several challenges including diseases malaria and dysentery.
The special edition was highlighted on the 82nd Airborne’s Facebook page, which has 15,000 fans, according to the Raleigh Telegram.
