The Orange County Register’s OCVarsity.com has launched its mobile application for the iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows smartphones.
The OCVarsity app provides comprehensive reports about varsity high school sports in Orange County, Calif., including up-to-the-minute game scores and live feeds as the games are happening. Live football game updates will be available on the app every 10 minutes. Push notifications will also be available on the app.
The app includes the tabs: Top Story, Football (allowing users to customize news by specific interests), Video, Scoreboard, and More (to access settings, provide feedback on the app, access other apps or saved articles, and view account information). Share options, such as sending content to Facebook, Twitter or e-mail, are also part of the app.
The OCVarsity mobile app is part of a larger rollout and digital strategy by parent company Freedom Communications Inc. to deliver local news and information instantly across multiple platforms, Mark McEachen, EVP, COO and CFO at Freedom Communications said in a statement.

The OCVarsity.com app is available in app stores and as a free download by texting OCVAR to 56654.
