‘Orange County Register’ Rolls Out New ‘Cars’ Section

By: E&P Staff

The Orange County Register in Santa Ana, Calif., today rolls out a new Cars print section that will run on Fridays.

The new section will serve the auto-loving culture of Orange County, according to Matt Degen, Orange County Register Communications’ automotive editor and Auto Motion blogger. It is part of a larger auto-centric push that extends online, where readers can check out stories and photos from the latest car shows.

Featured are news, reviews and features celebrating car culture, including the themes: My First Car, Aftermarket, Manufacturer, Car Reviews, Classics/Collectibles, and Events. Also included are items from the newspaper’s Auto Motion blog and the “My Totally Hot Car” feature that spotlights readers’ automobiles.

Readers of the Cars print section can place free, four-line, private-party print ads for buying or selling cars, motorcycles, boats or recreational vehicles in its classifieds pages. Free ads may also be placed on ocregister.com/cars for seven days, which includes a photo. The site will also highlight the inventory of cars for sale at select local dealerships.

At OCRegister.com/cars, readers can download an accompanying mobile app to access automotive content and listings.

In a related promotion, the Register is the official newspaper sponsor of Orange County’s first Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction being held today through Sunday at the OC Fair & Event Center. Barrett-Jackson provides products and services to owners of classic cars.
