Orlando Sentinel Communications will launch three weekly community newspapers in western Volusia County in Florida. The weeklies, DeLand Current, Deltona Current, and DeBary/Orange City Current will be delivered for free to more than 50,000 households on Oct. 8.
?We know that readers in Volusia County want more local news than they can get from a paper the size of the Orlando Sentinel,? Kathleen M. Waltz, president, publisher, and CEO of Orlando Sentinel Communications, said in a statement. ?With our new, community newspapers, we are responding to that need.?
The newspapers, which will be published as broadsheets, will be delivered to households that do not subscribe to the Orlando Sentinel or El Sentinel.
