Orlando Sentinel Gears Up for Black Friday Ads

With just a few days to go until Black Friday, many shoppers have already been surfing websites looking for all the deals.

But Orlando Sentinel employees say advertising circulars won’t become a thing of the past.

With just three days before Thanksgiving, millions of advertising circulars are being sorted and stacked inside the Orlando Sentinel building.

Though they print newspapers daily, planning for Black Friday starts in August.

“We decide what days we need to insert, when we need to be here and when we need to start the circulation downloads,” said Sentinel Operations Manager Paula Garland.

There are 94 different inserts. Customers may get a total of 1,100 pages of ads, which is more than 4 pounds of extra shopping ideas in your Thanksgiving paper.
