Ottaway Newspapers Inc., Dow Jones & Co.’s community newspaper chain, said Wednesday it is buying the New England Business Bulletin from New England Publishing Group Inc.
Terms of the purchase agreement were not disclosed.
The Bulletin, a 32-page tabloid monthly, has a readership of 45,000 in southeastern Massachusetts and eastern Rhode Island. It was founded in 1999 by its editor and publisher, Timothy R. Branco.
In Massachusetts, Ottaway publishes the Cape Cod Times of Hyannis; the Inquirer & Mirror of Nantucket; the Standard-Times of New Bedford; and Hathaway Publishing, a group of five weeklies in the SouthCoast region of the state. The New England Business Bulletin will operate out of the Hathaway offices in Somerset.
“The New England Business Bulletin has a unique position serving the important business-to-business segment of the southeastern New England economy,” John N. Wilcox, Ottaway president and chief operating officer, said in the Wednesday announcement.
