Publisher Jesse P. Phillips and Editor Nina Goolsby are stepping down from day-to-day operations at The Oxford (Miss.) Eagle.
Phillips and Goolsby, along with W.S. Featherston, became owners of the newspaper in 1961. (Featherston retired in 1972.)
Part-owners Rita Vasilyev and Tim Phillips are moving from assistant publishers to co-publishers.
These changes follow the death of Dan Phillips, the newspaper’s assistant publisher. Phillips, 47, died Dec. 12 at the University of Alabama-Birmingham Hospital after complications following a kidney transplant on Nov. 22.
