Town Square Publications LLC, a subsidiary of Paddock Publications, Inc., announced it has purchased the assets of Elgin-based Village Profile. Village Profile has been a significant competitor of Paddock’s Town Square Publications since Paddock entered the chamber of commerce specialty publications business four years ago. The acquisition accelerates the growth in this area, as well as establishing a nationwide footprint for Town Square.
“The Village Profile acquisition is in keeping with the strategic plan to grow Paddock’s business in new and different ways,” said Douglas K. Ray, Chairman, CEO, President and Publisher. “The decision to expand into the non-daily newspaper business has proved to be an excellent one, as the company’s niche divisions are contributing nicely to the overall revenue and profitability of Paddock Publications. In the past two years, Town Square Publications has expanded beyond Chicago and the suburbs, working with chambers of commerce in Wisconsin, the upper Midwest and California to secure advertising sales for and product development of community guides. Currently, Town Square Publications has contracts with 50 chambers of commerce. With the purchase of Village Profile, Town Square Publications’ growth will be accelerated, and expansion will take place beyond Chicago and throughout the United States.”
“Village Profile has more than 100 relationships with chambers of commerce, from coast to coast. The synergies and Village Profile relationships will serve us well as we move aggressively into this non-traditional marketing area,” said Scott Stone, Chief Operating Officer of Paddock Publications and President of Town Square Publications.
Paddock Publications has been a family-owned business since 1872. Known as the Daily Herald Media Group, it offers a portfolio of products designed to deliver solutions for newspaper readers, online visitors, mobile users and advertisers in north, west and northwest suburban Chicago. In addition to Town Square Publications, Paddock’s product suite includes the Daily Herald, Reflejos, Business Ledger and a large array of niche publications.
