Tim Burke, executive editor of The Palm Beach Post, has been named publisher for Palm Beach Newspapers Inc.
The promotion was announced Wednesday. The company includes The Post, the Palm Beach Daily News and La Palma. Burke will keep his role as editor of The Post and his title of vice president for audience development. He became editor in April after serving as vice president for digital media.
In his 16 years at The Post, the 49-year-old Burke was also a sports editor, assistant managing editor for sports and deputy managing editor.
Before joining The Post, Burke was assistant sports editor at The Miami Herald for six years. He also worked as a sports editor and reporter at the Dallas Times-Herald and Springfield (Mo) News-Leader.
