A cover story adapted from “The Last Lecture” book will appear in the April 6 issue of Parade magazine.
The book, scheduled to be released April 8, is by Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch “with” Wall Street Journal columnist Jeffrey Zaslow.
Pausch’s byline is on the Parade adaptation of the book, for which Hyperion paid a reported $6.7-million advance.
The professor, who is dying of pancreatic cancer, gave a moving and upbeat “last lecture” last September that stirred a vast amount of interest. A big reason why Pausch’s comments quickly spread worldwide was a column Zaslow wrote about the talk that was accompanied by a video.
Zaslow subsequently took a leave of absence from the Journal to work on what turned out to be a 206-page book.
Parade is distributed to more than 400 Sunday newspapers with 32 million circulation.
The book’s publication date was reported in this March 17 E&P story.
