“Baby Blues” and “Tundra” are in and “Peanuts” reruns and “Rose is Rose” are out of the daily pages of the Journal Gazette/Times-Courier starting today.
The Mattoon, Ill.-based JG and Charleston, Ill.-based T-C are zoned editions of the same newspaper.
Also, the paper dropped the liberal “Doonesbury” and conservative “Mallard Fillmore” from its editorial page.
“Peanuts” reruns, which will continue to appear in the paper’s Sunday edition, are by the late Charles M. Schulz of United Media — also the distributor of “Rose is Rose” by Pat Brady and Don Wimmer.
“Baby Blues” is by Jerry Scott and Rick Kirkman of King Features Syndicate, while “Tundra” is by Chad Carpenter of self-syndication (domestically) and King (internationally).
The currently on-sabbatical “Doonesbury” is by Garry Trudeau of Universal Press Syndicate, while “Mallard Fillmore” is by Bruce Tinsley of King.
