Pennsylvania Journos Won’t Testify in Grand Jury Probe

A judge has thrown out subpoenas issued to 15 Pennsylvania journalists who were summoned to testify at a hearing on whether a special prosecutor should be appointed to investigate alleged violations of grand jury secrecy.

Dauphin County Judge Todd Hoover in Harrisburg issued an order Thursday quashing the subpoenas.

The subpoenas targeted reporters who covered the monthslong grand jury investigation that culminated in state police charging casino owner Louis DeNaples with four counts of perjury in January.

DeNaples’ legal team served subpoenas in June on reporters from The Associated Press and other media organization.
