The Pioneer Press in St. Paul, Minn., announced circulation growth — both daily and Sunday — for the six-month period ending March 2006.
The paper said its Publisher?s Statement filed with the Audit Bureau of Circulations showed gains in daily circulation, up 2% to 194,105 copies and Sunday, up 1.6% to 251,565 copies.
The paper continues to make increases in home delivery circulation according to a statement.
?Our growth confirms the success of our local news strategy,? Par Ridder, publisher of the Pioneer Press, said in a statement. ?Readers know they can turn to the Pioneer Press for distinctive coverage they won?t find anywhere else.?
The Pioneer Press is among the 12 papers that McClatchy plans to divest.
