The Pocono Record in Stroudsburg, Pa., today announced layoffs and relocation of its printing operations.

Printing moved this week to the Times Herald-Record, an Ottaway Newspapers sister paper in Middletown, N.Y. The change eliminated 12 full-time and 22 part-time jobs in the Record’s Tannersville pressroom and mailroom, according to a report in today’s Record by Executive Editor William J. Watson.

Joe Vanderhoof, who is publisher in Middletown and also president of the Pocono Record.

“Should pressroom positions become available at the Middletown plant within the next six months, employees who were laid off in Pocono will be given the opportunity to apply first,” said Joe Vanderhoof, Times Herald-Record publisher and Pocono Record president.

Production of the Record moved from Stroudsburg to the Tannersville plant in 1992. The renovated old facility now houses the news and business offices.
