The Washington Post co.’s Post-Newsweek Media, publisher of community and military newspapers and specialty publications, has selected the Saxotech Mediaware Center and Saxotech Online for its print and online media products.
The Saxotech Mediaware Center will be used by more than 180 individual editors and content producers. Six online media sites will implement Saxotech Online hosted on the Saxotech cloud.
Post-Newsweek Media’s solution will enable collaboration among properties to maximize use of resources. The Saxotech Mediaware Center and Saxotech Online will enable content production for more channels and more market segments, maximize workflow efficiencies and providing production tools for high volumes of content to multiple digital channels, according to the Tampa-based supplier.
Post-Newsweek Media CEO Chuck Lyons said his company’s experience with Saxotech at its Daily Herald Co., Everett, Wash., “gave us every confidence in analyzing and developing a plan that will serve Post-Newsweek Media as we grow our print and online businesses.”
Content producers and editors will be able to plan stories and manage content based on resource availability and publish to various channels from one system. At the office or from remote locations, the Saxotech Mediaware Center will enable Post-Newsweek Media contributors to collaborate, check assignments, book resources, access materials and monitor development through final layout of both print or digital publications.
Saxotech Online will provide the end-to-end workflow needed to allow Post-Newsweek Media to reach its audiences based on their preferences, whether the Web, RSS, handheld devices or other rich media formats.
