Gannett’s Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal reports today that beginning Jan. 5, it will be printed at its sister paper to the south, The Journal News, in White Plains.

The move will cost approximately 45 full- and part-time pressroom and mailroom jobs, according to Journal Publisher Barry Rothfeld. Employees losing their jobs will receive severance commensurate with time worked for the company.

Journal pages will be transmitted to the Journal News plant, which also prints USA Today for the greater New York area.

Disposition of the Journal’s manroland Mediaman press and its packaging equipment has not been determined.
