Prefontaine Leaves Transcontinental Media

Montreal-based Transcontinental Inc. announced that Andr? Prefontaine, president of its Transcontinental Media publishing and distribution subsidiary, has left the company. President and CEO Luc Desjardins will take over in the interim.

The company also announced that Chief Financial Officer Daniel Denault will resign, effective Feb. 17, when Treasurer Beno?t Huard, will be appointed interim CFO.

During his 10 years with the large printer and publisher, Pr?fontaine headed Transcontinental Media during growth that included the acquisition of magazines and the CanWest and Optipress newspapers, and the launch of Elle Canada and the daily paper Metro.
