The publisher of the Tribune-Democrat in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, says he’s resigning next month to start his own company.
Forty-year-old Chris Voccio did not discuss his new venture in a memo to his employees, but said he will remain in Johnstown. Voccio says the new company won’t conflict with the newspaper’s mission.
Voccio was named general manager of the Tribune-Democrat in February 2004 and publisher in July of that year. He directed development of Johnstown Magazine in January 2005 and started the Johnstown Business Weekly last month. Before going to Johnstown, Voccio was publisher of the Greenville
