Zurich-based media company Ringier has moved to media-neutral publishing at several of its publications using the Smart Connection Enterprise solution from Dutch developer WoodWing. Ringier intends to expand the WoodWing installation to the rest of its publications by year’s end, including the national daily Blick.
The new system has improved the publications’ ability to publish simultaneously in print and on the Web, and allows automatic content updating from one medium to another, according to the company, while integration of JournalDesigner has improved planning tasks.
Including Ringier’s publications, six Swiss dailies now use WoodWing.
WoodWing also recently installed its Smart Connection Enterprise editorial system at Norway’s Bergen University for production of print and online versions of the 7,000-circulation student paper, Studvest.
