Punch International NV of Lier, Belgium, bought the shares of basysPrint GmbH of Boizenburg, Germany, expanding Punch’s position as a supplier to the graphic arts industry and enlarging its graphics division, which consists of Xeikon International and Strobbe Graphics.

Announcing the deal, Punch CEO Guido Dumarey said the “take-over fits in perfectly with our strategy to acquire unique technology” and complements its other CTP company, Strobbe Graphics, with which basysPrint “will be working closely.”
BasysPrint President Friedrich L?llau said Punch will “strengthen and enlarge our market position.”
Besides platesetters, basysPrint offers automation, proofing and workflow solutions. The company, which dates from 1914, has 80 employees, sales offices in Peachtree City, Ga., and in Canada, and a worldwide network of distributors.
