Recent customers of Miami-based Quipp Systems’ stackers, wrappers, inserters, and inserter control systems range from the Columbia River to the Colombian capital.
After buying a Quipp Viper wrapper at Nexpo 2006, The Wenatchee (Wash.) World bought another that was exhibited at Nexpo earlier this month. The deal was signed at the show in Washington, D.C., and shipped directly to the World plant.
Quipp also recorded the following sales: The Austin (Texas) American-Statesman purchased three Quipp Model 501 stackers to be added to the two Quipp Packman packaging systems bought in 2007. The Key West Citizen bought a Quipp Off-Press counter stacker. American Color Graphics ordered a Quipp Model 500 stacker for its Dayton, N.J., plant, where it joins several other Quipp stackers, inserters and Vipers. The Evansville Courier & Press ordered a Quipp bundle turner to enable cross-tying.
El Tiempo, one of Colombia’s largest newspapers, recently purchased an upgraded Quipp NewsCom 6 insert management control system for use with a third, existing inserter. The first NewsCom 6 upgrade was installed in Bogota by Quipp a year ago, and the second last December.
Quipp also installed a remanufactured 8:1 inserter equipped with the Quipp NewsCom 6 control system at the Webb Communications facility in Williamsport, Pa.
